Default Some recordings from my new Phoenix Neoclassical

    Hey folks,

I've uploaded a couple of recordings of my new Phoenix Neoclassical.

Here Comes the Sun (Tim Connell's arrangement, I recommend checking him out for lessons): https://soundcloud.com/boblongmandol...s-the-sun-mono

    Georgia on My Mind: https://soundcloud.com/boblongmandol...gia-on-my-mind

As ever I'd really really love feedback on my tone and playing.

    Thanks,
    Bob

I'm only familiar with the first tune, "Here Comes The Sun", so that's the one I will comment on:

Excellent!! Love it! Very nicely done.

IMO the tone sounds great, the melody sounds like it should, the rhythm is good, the chords sound good (as far as I can tell anyway, I'm certainly no chord expert but it sounds good), and it's just altogether enjoyable to listen to.

The only thing I would suggest -- since you asked for feedback -- in a couple of spots I would recommend to hit the open E string a little lighter. At times the open E seems to stand out more than the other notes, and I don't think you'd intended for it to do that. But it might just be my headphones, or my ears. But other than that minor detail, superb!

The mandolin sounds phantastic - also because you seem to be an excellent picker.

Nice Playing with interesting improvisation on GEORGIA ON MY MIND. Your mandolin sounds real pretty. The Neoclassical is on my wish list.

Fine playing on both tracks, Bob. Your chordal work is excellent, I'd say, and it is great to hear this sort of playing on the mandolin. Georgia is one of my favourite tunes, and I especially like the vocal by Willie Nelson. Your rendition here captures the chordal sequence very well.
