    Default Junior appointed instruments

    Hello!

I'm interested in hearing from some players who own mandolins that are appointed in the Jr style. I'd love to see F and oval hole mandolins, I'm more so interested in seeing
Jr mandolins built by modern makers.

I wish, just reposted from elsewhere. It is a thing of beauty.

Here are a few previously owned instruments that sort of fall into that category:
    Gibson Army Navy
    Flatiron pancake mandola
    Glenn F5

This 5+ year old thread has a good discussion of Junior mandolins made by some of the top makers. Sean Grexa had been accumulating some nice ones.

I believe Sean had to sell most of his collection.

Here's a demo of Steve's 5jr (#668) in good hands. The vid provides a sampling of more mid-upper tonal range, perhaps a bit dampened, but it has solid lows too. I think this one is parallel braced with sugar maple and red spruce. Hope this helps. Happy Sunday!
