    Default Martin Barre 10/6/17

Mr. Barre cranked out a mandola for a couple tunes @The Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ on Friday. He played some tunes off his new CD Back To Steel, some from his old band Jethro Tull, and a couple mixed bag items. He's got some skills and I enjoyed a sweet night out listening to them. He's a rocker, but has some eccentric tendencies that make his shows fun. Here's a couple mandola tunes.

Nice to see Martin still rocking on. First saw him nearly 50 years ago with Tull in some shows in Germany. I remember that he got killer tone from his Les Paul and was a very crisp player. He didn't play any mandolin or mandola at those shows, but Ian Anderson played a roundback on several numbers.
