I like my Fishman Platinum Pro for both mandolin and banjo.

Fire-Eye used to offer, and may still offer, a simple mute switch that plugs into the effects loop. I talked with the owner/designer when I bought mine and he sold me the mute switch as well. It's a great sounding and simple setup.
What pickup are using on mandolin? K&K?
Been using the Venue for years, and I love it. Built like a tank. I play at least 3 instruments when I gig, and the tuner(mute) feature makes changing instruments a quick, quiet breeze. The tuner works great, especially in dark places, and the boost is handy for leads. If my Venue ever craps out, I'll immediately get a new one.
Chief. Way up North. Gibson 1917 A model with pickup. JL Smith 5 string electric. 1929 National Triolian resonator mandolin with pickup. National RM 1 with pickup. Ovation Applause. Fender FM- 60 E 5 string electric (with juiced pickups). 1950's Gibson EM-200 electric mandolin. 1954 Gibson EM-150 electric mandolin. Custom made "Jett Pink" 5 string electric- Bo Diddley slab style. Jay Roberts Tiny Moore model 5 string electric.
I have an older Fishman Platinum Pro EQ and it sounds good and does the job so I never upgraded but it doesnt have the features like tuner/mute or boost that the venue has. And I think those are important features. I am playing with a new guy who has the venue for his banjo so within the next few weeks I will be able to borrow it and set up the PA and do an A/B comparison to see if the venue sounds as good or better or the same. Features are very important but ultimately you're paying for the tone.
No matter where I go, there I am...Unless I'm running a little late.
I love the Venue DI. The only feature I find less than perfect is the tuner tracking is slow compared to other tuner pedals or even your better headstock clip-on. I find it is great for acoustic and electric instruments. Lots of features to shape and send sound in one awesome profile. I put it on a Feather Weight board for a little elevation, and feed it thru a Snark wall wort. It's all good, all the time.
