    Default Knotty Knecked Gibson

Here's a nice looking post war A-model with what looks like a knot going right through the heel of the neck. It may have influenced the carving of the heel a bit.

Sortta like ... ya look down and it winks back at you!

If it were a cheapo, maybe some P-40 style "jaws" around the end of the heel? Or would an elephant mouth be more appropriate, w/ the trunk already there?

I've got a 2003 F-5fb (F-5 "flameburst", one of the special order of F-5g's made for the west coast "Music Machine" chain stores, with Adiorondack tops and a Cremona flamed finish on the entire body) that has a "knot in the neck".

It's never been a problem, but I'm reaching that point in life (gettin' older) where it's probably time to let some instruments go, and this may be one of them. I'm wondering if the neck "imperfection" is going to appeal to anyone?

When I wake up after falling asleep on the city bus, I know just how that Gibson feels.
