Default Woody Guthrie Center - No mandolin content

A friend of mine recently visited the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, and took some shots of some really neat instruments. I love the small body old Gibson, the fiddle, and that epic banjo. Just thought you guys might like to see.

He did play some, of course.

Oddly, there don't seem to be any clips of him playing Woody's Rag on line, just cover versions.

Interesting that OK now takes pride in Guthrie, which sure wasn't true when he was alive, or even in the first years after his death. He was a bit too radical and unorthodox, to earn their public respect -- at least until recently.

This thread has several pics of Guthrie playing mandolin.

Woody Guthrie has been a big influence for me. I recall looping a CD at night for a week straight to see if listening to it in my sleep would have any effect. Not sure that it did.

I just saw this posted at The Vintage Gibson Mandolin group on facebook. I'm not sure when it was donated, but it does seem to be since this thread was started. Funny how it doesn't appear in any of the three photos we've found of Woody playing mandolin. Interesting finish.
