What is on there right now? You might post a photo and we could probably figure out what was originally on there, if you care about that. Regal made many styles of mandolin.

It was probably what we call a Waverly Cloud tailpiece. It might have been a kidney shaped cover as they fit the same base. They come up now and again on eBay and in the classifieds. Basically everyone (Regal, Harmony, Kay, Martin and even Gibson on some models) used that same tailpiece from the teens through the 70's.

Yup, 3# you got a mandolin that a past owner lost the cover, because they set it aside after a string change and misplaced it
into that void where 1 sock or glove goes.
