    Default Gibson Alrite on ebay

Just noticed this ad for a 1917 Gibson Alrite that looks like it's in good shape. Owner doesn't seem particularly knowledgeable, since he/she thinks it was made for WWII soldiers, but the starting bid price is roughly half of what I've seen some of these go for. No stake, not in the market myself, but sure is an interesting part of mandoln history!

It was my understanding that the "Alright" was the cousin of the "Army-Navy" which was sold in PX's for servicemen.
Pricing on this one seems a bit dear to me.

It looks like it's coming over to the UK, I've been after one for a while now, just a pity there's no case.
Do any of you guys know what case will fit it?

As far as a case, depending on your location I might contact Elderly and see what they might suggest. Or someone closer to "home" if need be.

Elderly notes that the Concord Adjustable Mandolin Case works with the Army-Navy model, so it should work for this. Not cheap, but seems like an excellent case--currently back-ordered, though. (I was just looking at it for one of my mandolins.)

    There we have it!
I would have looked but then I'd have placed an order for something I probably don't really need!
    Thanks Rob.

My 1N came in a case almost exactly like the Guardian case that my MD305 fits in. Enough difference to tell its not the same case, but close enough to say it will fit. ... In case you weren't aware, 1N was Flatiron's version of the A/N mandolin like the Gibson A/N or Alright... long and short, I'd say it would probably fit in this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002...VTL&ref=plSrch

I thought the pricing was pretty good when you consider the 1N, 2N and 3N Flatiron Pancake and the rarity value puts it even higher on the must have list for that price.

I'm not so sure, the odd finish work on the back makes me more than a little curious.
I guess it was reasonable enough for someone, it sold. Hope it has a good home.
