Default My Herb Taylor tenor guitar build in progress!

Super excited about the tenor guitar Herb Taylor is building for me - he sent me this photo yesterday to show what stage he's at in the build. The bridge isn't attached yet - he just placed it there for the photo to give me an idea of what it will look like. Should be on it's way to me Nov/Dec -ish!! Sapele back and sides and spruce top.

You are going to love it. I was just playing mine a few minutes ago. I still haven't played one of his flattops.

Looks like Herb has the tenor guitar dialed in! Enjoy.

Been a long time since I've heard you play Tenor.
Can't wait to hear you on this beautiful guitar.

And here it 'tis: Sapele back and sides (with side port), light colored cedar top (looked back at old email communications and Herb mentioned having a piece of light colored cedar, not spruce as originally thought), wood binding top and back, herringbone purfling, 21 inch scale length with a 1 1/4 nut, tuned GDAE:

FIne-looking instrument, Jill, and I know you will do it justice with your playing. I like zero frets - use them myself and I know there are divided opinions on their benefits/snags. The one in my avatar is one I built (but with no zero fret) and which is now over in Ireland!

Have fun and keep the recordings coming.

Herb has some interesting features in that tenor. The extra bend at the beginning of the cutaway I have never seen before. I also like the floating fingerboard extension. Is it a bolt on neck?

Sounds great in your other video by the by.

Yes, Herb designs his tenors with a removable neck to make adjustments later on down the line easier.
