Yeah, the big city is a fearful dangerous place ...

Still, at least you'll be getting away from all those deranged chainsaw-wielding cannibal hillbillies ....

    Cue up "Dueling Banjos."
Segue into "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown."

    But, there's GREAT food!!!!
If you get stumped, pm me!
Cafe Baba Reeba used to be one of my favorites, a million steakhouses, Asian of all stripes, Greek, German, you name it, you can find it!
You will also have the chance to really have fun in and on the Great Lakes!
Kalamazoo is only about 130 miles away and I'm easy to find.
    You're certainly welcome to stop!

I am now in Chicago and pursuing various activities. I have a shop set up. Interested in workshop or retail space sharing, too. Considering getting a real place in somewhere like Michigan City, IN. High dollar here in the city.

    Keep going north..
Holland , Mich. needs you and it's
a great town. I guarantee you will like it.

You really want to stay in the murder capitol of the US ?

If you want the jugs out in the wind , get a proper motorcycle..
    Get a Moto Guzzi..

I have owned 2 Le Mans models and 80 and an 83.
Also 5 Moto Morinis.. 72 degree V twins but unlike Harley... well made.

And if you ever decide to get an adult motorcycle, consider BMW.. I have owned 12 from 1965-1990.

I’m sorry to see you go. I will miss our infrequent get together. My wife was born in Chicago and I was born in Sterling. That’s about 100miles west of Chicago. When I was young I spent a lot of time there, but haven’t been there in over 25 years. I wish you well, my friend, and hope the very best for you on your new venture.
    Have a Great Day!

Thanks Joe & Jeff. Rebecca works for the city, so she has to be in Chicago. We're considering a small condo in the city and a shop outside, maybe in Indiana. I'll still be back in Tennessee every now and then. Not sure what I'll be doing here. An opportunity with a national music store is opening a bit. Might be fun. And I'm starting in on making violins again. Rusty!!! Of course, there's a mandolin or three in the mix, as always.

Welcome, Steve! Chicago is a great city. I’m kind of a homebody, so not the best source, but I can promise the exploring will be fun if you get out into neighborhoods, check out the many festivals now that it’s summer, etc. Here in Oak Park there’s a weekly bluegrass jam on Saturdays at the Farmers Market if you’re into that. Maybe I’ll see you there sometime! Haven’t been in a while myself since Saturday tends to be occupied by my son’s swim meets, but let me know if you want to go. I’d get a kick out of meeting the guy who gave my mandolin its voodoo powers.
