Default Dennis Vance and The Mandolin Store

I just want to give these folks a plug. He's a great guy that genuinely cares about his customers. I just can't get over how well I was treated as a customer. Wow!! You Almost never see business people that are so genuine. A true stand up guy.

Man I wear Dennis out! I get MAS frequently and call Dennis only to come to my senses (my daughter just stated college) and realize I just can't afford it right now, but Dennis keeps patiently texting and calling me back. My next mandolin purchase will definitely be from the Mandolin Store!😉

Got my Gibson from Dennis and the fine folks at The Mandolin Store. I live across the country and was nervous to invest that much money into something I hadn't seen or played!! Dennis was awesome. He was responding to questions all weekend long, even after business hours! Best musical purchase of my life!

+1 for Dennis and TMS. I've bought several mandos from them and they are the best.

I've only been playing for little over 2 years and all 3 mandolins I've owned came from TMS. I live in Florida. I called when I caught the bug and purchased an Eastman as it was the recommendation I got from Dennis. It was spot on. 3 months later I ordered a a Weber had it for 3 days called Dennis back and said what would my next level mandolin be and they had a used Gibson TMS F5 that he said could be my forever mandolin. They took the Weber back sent me the Gibson before they got the Weber back! All 3 I bought without playing and all 3 met and surpassed my expectations. Wish I had started playing earlier in life but that's not TMS fault

I was in Phoenix anyway, so went by for a visit. Told them upfront though I'd bought my Eastman from them, but I told them I wasn't seriously shopping, but wanted to educate myself as to what various price levels could provide. Spent an hour and a half playing up the Eastman and Kentucky lines. Was really focusing on the master Kentuckys, which were quite good, then played a Northfield and an F9, and a Weber or two.

Found out what I expected to. I'd have to spend for what I wanted. I wanted to buy a tone guard but they were out. But I was treated like I had 5k in my pocket. I could have played all the way up the ladder, but stopped for my own good. A shame more people can't get by in person. There really is no substitute for having a mandolin in hand. I got to play my first Gibson there. I don't know of a Gibson dealer in the SF Bay Area, and have only ever seen one modern F style in Gryphon. Plenty of old As here. Just bought a beautiful 1913 A-1.

    TMS is first rate.

I recently ordered my first Mando from these folks. They weren’t answering the phone on Labor Day, but returned my call, took my order and shipped it the next day. Noe I need to forget where they are. I do not need to add MAS to my GAS and AAS.

Having one mandolin is never enough. You will certainly be happy with two. Until of course, you buy your second. Then three seems reasonable. I'm at four, but I have a good excuse. I just finished my final shellac coat on my Arches kit. How else was I supposed to have the fortitude to wait three or four weeks to put the hardware back on?

I think my reasoning is impeccable. Trade up to the Silverangel, then buy a beater, then build an F style that will be brighter for bluegrass, then buy a piece of oval hole history. That's it. I'm done. So if you send me $10,000 I'll send you back a certificate of ownership of the Bay Bridge. Everyone knows the Golden Gate was sold already.

Agreed, the folks at the Mandolin Store are great. I've only bought one instrument from them so far, a KM-272. We had one of the bizarre delivery glitches that happen sometimes purely as a result of my location. I kept Brian in the loop as to what was going on. As it turned out, he didn't have to do anything too far out of the ordinary on his end of things, but he was obviously prepared to do whatever was necessary, and I appreciate his patience! The 272 was set up perfectly, by the way, and is an outstanding value. The Mandolin Store is definitely on my short list for future business. Top notch; strongly recommended.

I bought my first new Breedlove from him over a decade ago. Not long after, I bought my second. Still use both of them as my primary instruments. I'd almost be afraid to go to his shop. I'd really show my AAS by drooling over everything.

He's a good businessman and I've always felt like I got a great deal and a very good set-up on the instruments I've gotten.

I have bought three times from TMS. In each case, Dennis and his team have shown themselves to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and great on communication.

I used it in a scatological context. I think the OP meant A Acquisition Syndrome.

It must be the Amp urge, as Geoffa said. I have had my days dealing with that one. By the way-- this is hilarious Mandoplumb!
