Default Why is this posted here???

Was at the car wash a few days ago, the kind where they have kids wiping your car down and detailing it a bit. While killing some time was looking at this dollar bill and saw something mandolin related. What is it?

Washington has Bill Monroe's sideburns from the 70's! Who knew? All George needs is a cowboy hat!

A head stock in the "1" in the upper right hand corner is my guess.

Secretary of Treasury signed George B. Schultz. He was one of the first prominent Republicans to advocate legalizing marijuana, and a lot of mandolin players agree?

Well the E 665 is almost the frequency of the E course (should be 659 I think, but we all go a bit out of tune from time to time).

It had to be the serial.

Despite the serial number being the "correct" answer, my vote goes to the upside-down instrument "headstock" outline formed around the large "1" in the upper right corner. I'd never noticed that! But this design would work best for a b*njo, I think, and not so much for a mandolin.

There are little scrolls on the upper sides of the pic, but the sideburns seems like a better answer.

Sent a link to Dan and Darryl, they both spotted it right away. They think in serial numbers for Loars.

This should be donated to the CMHF and reside with Monroe's 73987. It had to be on purpose they did that number. But I'm more worried about your time being wasted on such trivia. Kinda like finding the face of Monroe on your morning piece of toast and posting a photo of it here with one bite taken out of his hat.

That was a good puzzle. I was looking for all kinds of things and missed that one entirely. I even put a dollar up against the screen for comparison.
