Apart from the neck repair that needs doing and the fact I have a replacement bridge would this be worth a $200 bid.
Is it solid woods or laminate, I know it's a pressed top and back?263127949153

You need to get a picture of the label. In the early 70's Gibson was basically pumping out copies of their products with the Epiphone label on them. The label was even misleading as it said Kalamazoo, MI on it then down below Made in Japan (or eventually Korea). Every guitar and mandolin from that era I've seen was laminated.
Beyond that if it's earlier maybe it's solid but I suspect it won't be.

So is it worth a $200 offer?

Not to me, YMMV.

Thanks Mike, I'll steer clear of it!

All things considered - I love two-point, oval-hole mandolins. If I could actually lay my hands on it to check straightness of the neck, condition of the neck joint, quality of the wood, etc., I would gladly do $200 for such a cool looking little instrument . . . but, from a distance it looks like too many variables for me to be comfortable with it. Too bad - I think it's a beauty!
I love two pointers also , if I didn't have as many as I have I would go $200

Yeah, I suspected that a $200 offer would be a bit low . . . but that's the beauty of eBay - sometimes you bid ridiculously low, and they accept! There will be more oval hole, two-pointers to come - no doubt.
