    Default Weymann mandolute tenor guitar

    Hey y'all,

I took my eldest to visit Mart Washington University yesterday, and stopped by Picker's Supply, the local vintage instrument shop. They had an odd duck, a Weymann tenor guitar. It consisted of a Mandolute, maybe a style 30 with the fiddle edges, except it had a Weymann tenor banjo neck. Looked original and pretty pristine. Sounded okay, but it was more interesting than it was a good instrument.

Anyone ever heard of one of these?

    Sorry I didn't get a picture.

I think this is the same instrument.

Thanks for that. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't win. What did Pickers Supply want for it?

900, though they offered to bundle it with another instrument if I wanted both, so I bet they'd be willing to come down. They have good vintage stuff, but it's usually not a bargain.

(Belatedly, I should probably point out NFI on my part, of course.)

I've had a couple of Weymann instruments. This is in the best shape of any I've seen. Who knows how to figure worth on something like this? It's cool and weird. I like cool and weird, but I've got a kid to send to college soon, so too steep for me.
