Thinking 1950's
Open hole (no signature F-holes) but neck is unmistakable.
Still probably sounds "way better that it should" as many have said.
More than likely a solid top (no guarantees) definitely laminated back & sides (but made well).

If you'd like to take a look inside one of these you can here. There aren't as many of them around as their cousins with F holes but they are around. I think it's probably solid woods unless that's an early 50's model, then it might be laminated but I would think the top would be mahogany if that was the case.

Saw that thread before & each time I see it... I see more (Thank you Mike). Notice the top brace does not go all the way across the top on the oval sound hole ones (unlike f-hole Strads). Also the fretboard is fancier (on the high notes) on the dismantled one, which is why I think the one in the auction is 1950's & could be (should not have said definitely) laminated.

Still, there are not a lot of mandolins that will sound this good for what will probably be less than $160.
