Kilin Reece feature interview in Hawaii's Magazine Hana Hou

Nice feature on Kilin Reece entitled Finding Mekia in Hana Hou, The Magazine of Hawaiian Airlines, attached as PDF.

Mekia is Mekia Kealakai, an important figure in early Hawaiian music and as Reece says in the article, "He was one of only four people at that point that the Martin Guitar Company made a guitar for, and they called it the Kealakai model."

The story is part feature on Kilin and his company KR Strings with historical information about Mekia woven in. Plenty on his building career and the current line of outside the box octave mandolins. Great read.
