Pava's getting so close to Tom Ellis's own build quality as almost makes no matter 'which' you buy. That mandolin looks positively edible !,

Dropped off their site today. We find these things out because we have enterprise link checking software we run that checks every single link on the entire site except for the forum. Fun way to find out lots of secrets and what's selling, etc.

I saw an Ellis A5 in the white with the bluebonnet inlay at Tom's shop last week. Spectacular up close.

I think thats one of the sweetest inlays I've seen! If you ordered a Pava could you ask for a similar inlay from their shop?

The Ellis in the shop headed for finishing was jaw dropping. Can't wait to see the pics of it when it's ready to ship.

    Fun picking with you Don!

This one is priced higher than their typical high end mandolin. Does it have other features other than the inlay that make it more expensive or are they raising prices? Anybody know?

The Bluebonnet inlay is offered as an upgrade on a Pava or an Ellis.
The Pava sold by Carter's Vintage is an A5 Pro model. The extra fancy Bluebonnet inlay added $500 to the base price of the mandolin.
The blue flowers are made with a multi step inlay process created by Tom Ellis. Essentially it is two layers, one of mother-of-pearl for depth and then the blue material for color.
