    Ah don't worry, no need to be sorry, I don't always explain myself very clearly. Its been pointed out to me online and in real life before. I just wanted to make it clear for xav88 sake. What you mention in your statement above, makes perfect sense to me now.

    If you are interested in starting on lute, look at the Lute Society of America's rental program: http://lutesocietyofamerica.org/Lute-Rental-Program It's not inexpensive, but cheaper than buying a lute, even a beginner model. I play both lute and mandolin; one does not preclude the other, but I find I never play Renaissance music on mandolin.
