    Default Gibson Pearloid tuner pegs

    Ya'll,
I broke one of the pearloid tuner pegs on my 2003 Gibson and can't find ant replacements. Does anyone have any spares that are laying around that I could purchase? I have asked Mike about it and was overwhelmed by the kind response and information that he sent to me. Thanks in advance for looking. John J

Dave, they are Gibson Grover's. We have two members looking for replacement buttons right now. If you have the buttons I'll dig out both members and have them contact you. I can send them replacement screws as we were able to size them but the buttons are apparently unique.

I'm not sure of the color, they were looking for the replacement pearloid buttons. Did they make the Gibson Grovers with real pearl? I've never seen a set. I had a conversation with the folks at Grover a few months back about parts for these tuners. They basically said they didn't have any. They are decent tuners but folks have started breaking buttons and losing screws. I had a limited number of screws that I got from Danny Roberts when I lost one of mine years back and I sized the button screw and have been giving people stainless replacements. If you've got gold screws or the silver screws with the built in washer then I know there are a few people that want those. What the last two users were looking for was buttons to replace broken buttons so they didn't have to replace the entire set. We generally hear from users after they've tried getting the replacement parts from Gibson Customer Service. I can PM you at least three members. Two looking for buttons and one looking for gold screws.

Same problem. I'm one of the users MikeEdgerton mentioned.I found a set of old A-Grovers on eBay for $50. The buttons fit and so did the screws and they look like exact replacements. I will keep a few for spares but would be happy to share the rest. Send me a message.

Mike, please do PM me with the those members. If they are Grover tuners they will be pearloid on nickel and MOP on gold, occasionally we use ivoroid buttons. A picture will help.
I'm glad to help if I can.

    Mike,
I haven't heard from Dave but Greg from Cal. Is sending me a couple of his pegs to try. I'll keep everyone informed to see if they work. Thanks again

    All,
Got a pair of A Grover buttons from Greg & everything fit very nicely. This may be a solution for the broken button syndrome! Thanks again Mike & Greg.

I noticed the smaller-size buttons on an EBay ad for some A-style Grover’s. Took a chance for $50 and got lucky! They fit perfectly on my ‘04 F-9.
