Definitely unique . . . I give it a B+.
I play my fiddles like that sometimes when I'm tired of bowing and just want to do a few plucky chords. She's a lot better at it than I am.

I'll pick a fiddle when the mood strikes. I always thought the coda of Lindley's solo on "Cocaine Blues" was effective.
Playing mandolins before I started in on fiddle I often put my bow down an pluck something so I am only thinking about one hand and not two. I even replaced my shoulder rest with one that would hang on when I did it because putting the other style rest back on each time it fell off while holding my fiddle like a mandolin broke my concentration and pi$$ed me off...I never have tried to play an entire song that way.... I love hanging out with mandolin nerds . . . . . Thanks peeps ...
