Kent was a brand of Japanese imports in the '60s and '70s. Nothing at all to do with Kent Armstrong.

I had the guitar version of that pickup and mine worked great!
I'm not commenting on the quality, just pointing out that there's no connection. DeArmond pickups were built in Toledo, OH.
