These mandostrats are addictive. Learning violin parts is easy. I spent too many years learning violin parts on guitar. The native fingering in mandolin makes it so much better than struggling on guitar. Although this piece is not as bad as some.

Would love to hear some critique. The track is experimental, probably could use some reverb to add depth. I finished working on it a few months ago, and abandoned it.

Good job, not sure there's anything to critique, slightly piercing until I got the volume turned down maybe. Could it get a bit muddy with reverb on all 3 ttracks?

    Thanks for the feedback.
Maybe some EQ would help the piercing quality. I think the high register of the mandolin coupled with the strong attack can fatigue the ears pretty quickly.
Next time I might mike it through a tube amp to mellow the sound a bit.
A lot of reverb would muddy it, but maybe a little, with a short decay would help.

I have custom built tube amps to mellow out the highs for harp and slide guitar. The same mods would work for mandolin.
