I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler last year while I was in the Bloomington area. I couldn't agree with you more on the fact that he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and is really committed to the craft. The fact that he is also a professional photographer greatly aids his ability to visually convey the beauty of his mandolins.

He is currently building #15 build for me. Engelmann spruce, Red maple i piece back, and the understated headstock inlay like mandoglobal has on his. I'm extremely excited. We have yet to discuss some of the finish details. I'd appreciate anyones thoughts on the lacquer v. oil varnish.

Hey All -

So the pics I posted previously were taken BEFORE Tyler began the final polish. He sent me this photo yesterday, and I’m completely astonished. He really seems to know when he’s reached the sweet spot. Such beautiful work!



For those of you who have been thinking about getting one of these early, custom mandolins from White, I’d highly suggest you contact him soon. His waitlist is getting longer by the day as orders have been coming in more and more frequently. I have no financial interest here, just wanted to give the heads up.

I finally received my White F5 #12 a few weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to post a write up here. Bottom line is that Tyler exceeded every expectation and I’m absolutely thrilled with how things turned out. Set up was outstanding, tonal quality was precisely what I wanted, and the aesthetic quality of the instrument is stunning. My plan is to post a few video recordings- just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
So, forgive the short posting, but I gotta get back to playing this amazing instrument!! Thank you Tyler White!!
