I'd rather have one of his early/mid 80's Grand Artist mandolins than that Flyer, they are cheaper and sound great the flyer actually looks like it could take off with those ridiculous top craters, sure can't call them F holes

How many Radio Flyer A's were there?

Seems like a pretty ambitious price for a used one.

Ah, it looks like the dealer's in Japan; there's usually a premium involved in used mandolin prices from Japan-based dealers.

Monteleones always bring top dollar, in my experience.

Now that's how you do a "modern" end-of-fretboard cutoff. Beautiful synergy in design with the F-holes, the finger guard, and the tailpiece.

It looks like it could fly. A sculpture you can play music on. Some photos for posterity.

Saw it a few days ago. Did a search for all mandolins above the price of $7500.00. 39 mandolins. 2 Loar I think.

Very cool. The Radio Flyer is probably my favorite design. It looks like they have the tailpiece installed incorrectly. The cord should attach to the hardware, not the endpin.

Assume everyone knows that "Radio Flyer" was a line of kids riding toys -- scooters, tricycles etc. I had a red Radio Flyer wagon as a kid; probably cost a bit less than the Monteleone.

Pure art. I would love to pick a tune or two on that.
