Default WiFi HD Waterproof Endoscopic Camera

Just stumbled across this and thought that it would be of interest to the builders/repair people here. An inexpensive (on sale right now for $33) 2 MP endoscopic camera, with LEDs, at the end of a 3 meter cable. The camera has a WiFi transmitter at the end of the cable and is compatible with Mac, PC, iOS, and Android (so it says).

What's not to like. You can now look inside an instrument with out contorting mirrors and lights.

    NFI (of course)

I have something very similar - no WiFi on mine just USB, but it does the job when nothing else will do... I attached it to my "cleat insertion device" (a bent coat hanger wire) for this:

BTW sorry about the background radio on that clip - I hadn't even realised that was on there!

What's the diameter of the business end on that thing? I've been looking for something small enough to go inside an F-hole, but the smallest one I can find is 5mm in diameter. Thanks!

Mines about 5mm - but that will easily go inside an F-Hole - remember that once the business end is inside, the cable is a lot thinner and more flexible obviously.

Are you talking about a violin ff hole? If its for mandolin, I would think that 5mm is going to fit with plenty of clearance.

I'll let you know about the diameter of the one I posted when mine arrives. It sure looks small enough to fit through an F hole. That will be it's first test.

The camera arrived today. It has it's own built in WiFi transmitter, so you connect your phone, device, computer, whatever to it. Dirt simple.

The camera is small enough to fit in my fiddle F hole, so no problem at all with mandos. The camera is at the end of a thick, 3m wire that is bendable (shapeable) the entire length.

Here are three (slightly blurry) photos that I took of the inside of my mandolin. BYW, the back and sides are sycamore, so they do have that grain pattern.
