Default Carlo Munier: "Menuet de Cendrillon" (1910), Op. 229

Carlo Munier (1959-1911): Danses Bijoux, Op. 229 (1910)
    No. 1: "Menuet de Cendrillon"

This is the first from a collection of five simple dance tunes written by Carlo Munier. The collection was sold for various combinations of instruments with up to five parts (two mandolins, mandola, mandocello and guitar or piano), of which all but the first mandolin and the guitar/piano are marked "ad lib".

    Parts are at IMSLP:

I have played this as a trio: two mandolins and tenor guitar.

    Performed by Martin Jonas
    1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin
    1915 Luigi Embergher mandolin
    Vintage Viaten tenor guitar

All images by Arthur Rackham from his illustrations for Cinderella ("Cendrillon" is French for Cinderella).

No relation to the piece by the same name by Massenet.

    Martin
