    Default Octave Mandolin build

Hi all, I know this has been asked before, but I am hoping there are updates. I would love to build an octave mandolin and I cannot decide on the plans. I want one that has as much information as possible...bracing, fret placement, etc....the usual. Anyone happy with their choice of plans? Thanks!

    td,
My GOM plan is available from the Musical Instrument Makers Forum (MIMF). You can find it here:
    http://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1465
    - I sent them my original drawing and their resources converted it to a CAD drawing. I have no financial interest in the sale of the plans and all proceeds go to support the MIMF.

I have also posted my Fifth Edition of the Archtop Build Journal, with lots of details on design and building. You can find it here on MIMF:
    http://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=4668
    - or, here on MC at:
    https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/s...+build+journal

    The GOM looks like this:

(Sorry about the sideways image - not sure how to fix that).

    Specs:
    - Englemann Spruce front, Curly Red Maple Rims, back and neck.
    - 14.5" wide archtop guitar body.
    - Macassar Ebony fretboard, 23.5" scale, 1.4" nut.
