Daybreak in Dixie

I used to have a Rural Rhythm collection of banjo tunes that included a recording by Hylo Brown and the Timberliners of a tune called Banjo on the Mountain. I never found another recording of the tune and just recently discovered Daybreak in Dixie by Bill Napier with the Stanley Brothers. They're the exact same tune, so...did Hylo Brown "lift" this tune for an album?

I don't know the answer, but folks "lift" stuff all the time. In fact, look up "Ralph's Banjo Special" to hear this tune under yet another name.

It was also recorded under the name ''Banjo In The Bluegrass'' by 'some band'. I have it on LP somewhere,on one of the 'compilation' LP's that Starday or another label issued. If i get time to day & don't forget,i'll have a look for it - i have a feeling that it was by The Stanley Brothers ?,

I was reading somewhere about that tune v. Daybreak and there is supposed to be one chord different I believe, but in various recordings it may or may not take place.
