Thanks for sharing, I've been excited to hear this mandolin since you posted the first pics. It's lovely and sounds great!
Beautiful mandolin.
What a fantastic Jig from Ian Stephenson -top class playing. Doesn't get any better than that.
What a stunning instrument!

That mandolin sounds fantastic. It is exactly the sound I want from one. Looks great too.
A zero fret, a wide fretboard and a well-balanced sound. Clean, no-frills elegant looks. How could one not fall in love with it?

I really like this mandolin I'd love to play one if possible one day,
BTW, it's "New Five Cents", a Kentucky tune from Isham Monday. I have it by Cecil Goforth.

Nice looking and sweet sounding instrument! The body looks a good bit wider than most mandolins, almost CBOM size, if not as deep?
I agree. It does look and sound great.
I must say, I have been finding your videos and your work in general to be very interesting in the past year or two.
The move to Germany seems to have suited you.
Incidentally, that did make me wonder. Ian and Tom are based in the NE of England as far as I know, so I assume that either you brought it over or they went to see you. Do you go back and fore a bit yourself and occasionally deliver an instrument?

Well, I really like the work Ian does, he was always a great sound engineer. He's a switched on lad. He could see the hassle I was having getting folk to do the video, so he learned how to do it himself - as well as being a superb musician he has a very good techincal mind. Much more so than me. A very talented chap. Other thing is, I know so many good musicians in the NE, and hardly any here, so sending them back works regardless of what sort of instrument it is. The lads there are world class musicians. They really are.
So I set them up and post the instruments to Ian, and he videos them. Then they go out on the newsletter. That mandoin went out on the newsletter on Sunday night. It was sold an hour later! I used to have an "Available now" page, but the newsletter is a better way to do it.

It is wide - when I first made them I looked at the measurements on the Hiscox cases site, and theought "yep, that'll be fine. The measuremnts on the site were wrong! By quite a bit. Dunno if they have put them right, but I had a hell of a job finding a case to fit the wide body. But i did, and they are fine, they're a mandola case. Good fit.
