I heard the news just a bit ago. I am really saddened by this, although after last year's scare it was expected. Like you Russ, his music has been a constant part of my life. Don't have the words to describe my feelings at the moment. Guess I will pick a couple of tunes and process it.

Sad news, I remember when live at Filmore East came out it changed my whole outlook on music. Over the years I've seen Gregg preform a number of times and it was always good sometimes amazing ! He did a tour about 15-20 years ago I think it was Dickey Betts, Derek Trucks, 2 drummers, 2 percussion players, a few back up singers, I caught a show at the Warfield in SF ca. and it was one I'll never forget It was an unreal sound they put out. He was a rock & roll icon.
Sad. Big loss.
