    Default Heads-Up To Rickenbacker Fans

My son just pointed out this little gem on eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/182546122136

I have never seen a 'Fry Pan' go up for sale before . . . and when you consider that some modern instruments sell for $10,000, this truly historical beauty is not unreasonably priced.

You will have to excuse me now - I am drooling all over my keyboard!

Interesting. According to a Rickenbacker site:

    Logo.

1934 to 1949: "Rickenbacher" is spelled with an "h", not "k" in the "bacher" portion of the name.
1950 to present: "Rickenbacker" spelled with a "k".

    1932 Electro A-22 introductions specs:

Circular cast aluminum body, horseshoe pickup, magnet 1 1/2" wide, no knobs, dot fingerboard markers, slotted peghead, "Electro" logo engraved into the peghead. The A-22 model has a 22.5" scale length, and the A-25 model has a 25" scale length.

    1934 Electro A-22 specs:

Volume knob added, "Rickenbacher Electro" metal plate added to peghead.

Interesting--I like some old stuff--like these Rickenbacker bakelite lap steels...
I played one in a store about a year & a half ago when I was out of town & had some time to check out some stores.
I forget how much they wanted--but it was out of my budget--at least on that day--but the guy there had to show it to me.

I was playing blues riffs--can't play as smooth as that guy...
Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?

It's very unreasonably priced. These top out around $3500 in excellent condition, and this one has all manner of added inlays and screw holes.

Thanks for the info. I had never seen one go up for sale before - hence my ignorance . . . good thing I didn't buy it!

I have a '37 lap steel that I think I paid $300 for - but it was a fairly common model.
