    Default Cherokee - Tony Williamson

Anybody ever worked this one up? Off the Tone Poets CD? I would love to have even the chords for this one.

    Thanks!

You'll find a chord-melody version by Mike Marshall here:

    on Mandozine, in tef format

Have fun; I don't quite have that up to speed after many years of trying.

Dan, It's one of my favourite tunes. I was sitting in the Stephen Austin hotel watching Paul Glasse....when it walks this fellow carrying a mandolin case. The short version is ...it was Tony Williamson. He sat in with Paul G & since there were only a few listeners at 4pm on a friday....they played Cherokee as a request for me...a killer version

I've played this song for two or three years on my tenor. It's interesting to hear on mando for sure, great stuff. I love to hear different approaches. Parker, Powell....etc. etc.

That was my wife singing with them. I think I have video of that somewhere. I really enjoyed those gigs at the Stephen F Austin, too bad they shut down the live music.

    Here's a more recent one.

Thank you Mark, Austin has the most surprising music scene. Your wife has a stunning voice. I always happen on some exciting music when I'm in Austin....something I wasn't looking for or hadn't counted on. Besides, any town where you can see Red Volkaert or Paul Glasse live...is number one for me!

BTW, I just recalled that the piano player behind your wife & Paul G, the next day showed up playing keyboards for Red V at the Continental. Small town, great talents.

That is Rich Harney. Incredible talent and a wonderful singer in his own right.
