Thread: J.L. Smith (4-stringer) Natural just finished.

Default J.L. Smith (4-stringer) Natural just finished.

Just thought I'd post a couple photo's of the Natural that I just finished.
I have had several inquiries in the past to build a Blonde or Natural model, so here it is.
    Thanks for looking!

That's a beautiful instrument, John. The Tele-ish shape is very pleasing to the eye, and, if the sound is still like the sample on emando.com, very pleasing to the ear. If I can peddle a couple of instruments I'll have to talk with you about a 5 string. Ken

    Hello John. Looks great!

I looked for sound samples on emando.com but didn't find any. Do you have a link? Thank you.

No sound samples on emando.com. There is a small jazz sample by Don Julin on jazzmando.com and I believe I put it on my website? I don't go for the sound sample demos, because of too many effects out there these days. Can you really trust sound samples? Just my thoughts.

You have a good point. Thanks for your reply.

I can trust sound samples only to the extent that they were well recorded in a good flat room using quality microphone>interface, uploaded without compression (that rules out youtube), and listened to with hi-fi headphones. Most samples do not qualify.
