Much better than the thumb tack I've been using.

How does it work? You have it around your fretting fingers (judging by the calluses) with no pick. What am I missing?

Any reason it won't work on an A style mandolin?

Keep that skillet good and greasy all the time!

Just putting it under the strings proved inadequate?

I've always found my waistcoat pockets do the job pretty good, they also manage with capo's, tuners and anything else you might need too.

Posh gent's waistcoats don't count as mandolin accessories - whereas, a rubber-band in any colour you want, providing it's green, is a must ...

Wow! My head just exploded when I read Bill's message! What a great idea! It's got me scratching my head and wondering why I hadn't thought of that years ago. Thanks!

I see you have a prime tone in the sample pic. Before I purchase, can it be trusted with my blue chip?

But Bill, won't this make the "cherry flavored" picks you appear to enjoy worthless? I have boxes of the grape, BTW.

I'm almost persuaded to buy one. Because if I forget to wear green on St. Patrick's day, I could quickly put the green billkilPATRICKs band around my wrist and be safe?

Over here in the colonies Vest pockets work just as well as those posh Waistcoat pockets.

I forget his name but there is one country singer that keeps extra pick(s) in his mouth while playing, I wonder if his are fruit flavored?

Hmmm … good point. My Loar has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish and has resisted all sorts of awful stuff … grimy hands and beer, mostly. I honestly don't know if a rubber-band would affect polyurethane, or any other finish. Caveat emptor.

I think silicone rubber would be OK with most finishes? Ordinary rubber not so much.
