Just got this little gem in today. Got a lot of research to do, (Frank Ford etc) thought I'd ask a few ideas / advice opinions from ya'll. So I'm thinking I'll bag it a few weeks to re-hydrate, then likely remove the back to address everything else. It's been off before and is half way off already. Bridge just fell off when I pulled the pins, 2 ebony locating pins. Recommended farming out the neck set to some one more capable, however the box is what I'm looking forward to working. All hide glue of course. Questions springing up would be:

1 Chemical to clean up old cracks before re-glueing ? (Assuming they won't need splinting, we'll see). I seem to recall a thread on that somewhere.

2 Side crack right up to the rib, as well as back along the center strip. Re-glue and perhaps a little silk & glue to re-enforce ?

3 I guess that's about it for now; if it we're mine I'd probably just completely dis-assemble and re-glue all linings / blocks and loose braces. We'll see if he goes for that.

Should be fun, much thanks for any input.
