    My understanding was that Martin's Model A was all mahogany. Model B and higher had rosewood back and sides. C, D, E, etc had progressively fancier inlay etc. I have owned an A a B and a C. The A sure looked like mahogany to me.
    I have always liked them, particularly that they were so light weight and had very nice tone...not for bluegrass, but good for jazz, etc. Never should have sold them (the C in particular), but you know how MAS works.
