    Default Help identify vintage mandolin

    Could anyone help identify this vintage mandolin I just got? No markings or labels anywhere, but it sounds great. Thanks in advance!

    The zero fret points to a maker outside the US, the tailpiece cover is standard US flavor Waverly used for decades. I would assume that wasn't original. Probably European. I'm sure one of our resident experts can get you closer based on the inlay and peghead shape.

    Interesting... The nut also seems like a replacement as it looks fairly new. This is a flat back by the way, in case that wasn't clear from the photo.

    I think the bowlback folks have a better chance of ID'ing that mandolin even though it's a flat back. I knew it was flat.
