They're going to be playing in Breckenridge on July 6th...but you probably already know that! The Mrs. and I may take a trip up the road to see them.

'been following them for a few years. My favorite is Old Ties and Companions. Both are very good guitarists and Emily is Suzuki trained on the violin. Fantastic harmonies.

I found Mandolin Orange on accident about two weeks ago. They've been my main listen since! While all their songs are amazing, Wake Me is my fave!

Like their work a bunch. Have listened to all their albums over and over. I really like their YouTube live stuff. This is from someone who mostly listens to performers who got their start in the 1960s.

My current favorite band and my inspiration for taking up the mandolin last year after decades playing guitar and bass. Had a chance to chat with them both after their last show here in Portland and they are very nice people. If they are playing anywhere nearby, just go...

Saw them in Buena Vista, CO. Super nice, approachable musicians. They put on a very good show. I highly recommend seeing them if you have a chance.

A big favorite of mine too for a few years now but haven't been able to see them live yet, hopefully will someday. What surprised me was how incredibly good Andrew is on the mandolin but doesn't show it off in their songs a lot, which is fine with me, I like their style.

I stumbled onto this video of him playing Big Mon and about 11 other songs with Tommy Edwards and was shocked to see Andrew playing like this. They do a nice variety of songs in the other videos that show up on that right column in YouTube when viewing video there and some show here at end of song. The clapping only lasts about 30 seconds.

I've said it before but I LOVE that he incorporates traditional techniques into his playing. Andrew and Joe Walsh are two of my favorites in the newer generation of players. He's really making that Kimble sing. thanks for posting that video. This will be my afternoon soundtrack!

And on another note.....how have I never heard of Tommy Edwards before? That's some serious guitar playing!

I just heard them live for the first time last Thursday at the Old Settler's Music Festival in Driftwood, TX.

Here is a clip from that show I found on YouTube.

My wife and I saw them at the Rockefeller in Houston last Saturday night. Fantastic concert! If you get a chance you should definitely catch them live.

One thing I thought was interesting was the audience. Everything from retired-looking couples (like my wife and I) to young people who look like they are part of the club scene. And everybody had a wonderful time.

Wow. Just wow. One of the things I like about their music is how they leave space and not feel compelled to fill each measure with as many notes as possible. But if he ever has to, that boy can shred!

I agree. They're a band that's really about songwriting first, great songs tastefully adorned with mandolin playing. They're not focused on featuring the mandolin playing as the priority in their sound.
