Seems the commonly lost Clam Shell cover.. with no strap button, was on mine..
you need the classifieds to see who is re selling theirs,
and no reproductions have seen the demand numbers there, to make more..

If it was a standard Waverly Cloud tailpiece there really aren't reproductions. It was used however on Harmony and Kay mandolins (as well as some Gibson and Martins and others) for decades. Watch for a mandolin on eBay, buy it, take off the tailpiece then sell the carcass to regain some of what it cost you.

I just looked and that is what it is. A very standard Waverly Cloud tailpiece.
Here's one. Here's another. Here is a Kay. You might want to keep the two halves of the tailpiece together because over the years the manufacturing changed ever so slightly. There's no magic in getting it off a Gibson, that tailpiece was used by everyone.

Cool. Disclaimer:
A while back someone was selling the tooling for making these out of stainless sheet on the classifieds. Please note the old 'cloud' tailpieces were not a standard item. The exact dimensions varied over time, also they were made with different curves to fit different shapes of mandolin. The size of the tailpiece base parts (i.e. the width across the flanges) varies. They are usually somewhere between 42 and 44mm.

Might be beneficial to replace the whole tail piece and add a strap button in the end block in the process..

Why not post a picture? It will make it a whole lot easier.

I used a bit of leather thru 'the hump' of a cloud/clamshell TP (A40, I had..) for strap mount..

If it is a Waverly Cloud you have at least two possibilities.
