Thread: Ebay Waverleys (?)

    Default Ebay Waverleys (?)

Has anyone checked these out? Supposedly older Stew Macs with issues. The button isn't a problem, but can you get Waverlys worked on if there is a real issue?

That is what you call a gamble. They state right up front there could be issues. How much are you willing to lose?

There was a set in the classifieds recently that went for $250.00 or so in pretty rough shape. I think they probably cleaned up well.

Note: Correction, that wasn't in the classifieds, it was on eBay.

Just wondering. If they stay cheap, maybe take a chance. Does Waverly have a repair service, or is there little that can be done in the way of repairs. I'll ask seller for details.

well to me they look like newer tuners, 10 years or so the waverly f-5 tuners were hand engraved and had thinner back plates, the newer tuners are cnc'd, not nearly as nice as the hand engraved and the back plates are a bit wider on the newer tuners! I don't know when stew-mac quit hand engraving,etc....

Those were picked up recently off ebay for about $175 and sold for $275.

Could be or could be my mistake. I was after the James tailpiece that was listed at the same time, but went above my budget.
