Default The place where you can bury me - help needed with chords!

    Hi folks,

Learning a song called "The Place where you can bury me" by Lonesome River Band. Got all the chords sussed out except for the very last line of the chorus - just above the place where you can bury me.

The intro and outro of the song seem to go Dm Em F G C, but they don't fit into that last night despite it being virtually identical. I think that the chords in the sung part is Dm Am F G C. Is that right?

It's funny, I (virtually) never have a problem in working out chords, but this one's thrown me a curved ball. Interestingly, Talkin To Myself by the same band also caused an issue in one section, but Jordan Ramsey came to the rescue!

Hope someone can help if they know the song,

    Cheers

    Johnny

Unless I'm missing something (which is always likely):

    .............F...........Dm.............Em.......G .....C....(OR)
    ............Dm...........................G........ ........C....
"...just above the place where you can bury me."

I'm hearing a single strum chord which might be the first line.
I'll bet lots of folks would simplify to the second line version, ii-V-I.

Or these old ears might not be hearing correctly. Other opinions welcome.

Nice song. I hadn't heard it.
    Phil

    “Sharps/Flats” “Accidentals”

Thanks Phil, yes it's a very pretty song. And, like you, I'm hearing various things that may or may not be there! Will grab my guitar now and try your version!

    Thanks,

    John

Just in case anybody else might be able to help out - here's the LRB playing the song. I play a lot of LRB songs as practice tunes,
''Talking To Myself'' is one of them. I never think of tunes in terms of 'chords'. If i know the key that a tune is in,i can usually find the chords ie. it's one of ''these shapes'' - i play it without naming it. I haven't tried this one out yet,but one of my favourites by the LRB is ''Bonnie Brown'' - that gets the fingers movin',
    Ivan
    Weber F-5 'Fern'.
    Lebeda F-5 "Special".
    Stelling Bellflower BANJO
    Tokai - 'Tele-alike'.
    Ellis DeLuxe "A" style.
