Default Road To Banff / Spey In Spate

I'm doing a year long project to record a song (or set) each week. It's been a while since I did a mandolin set for it but last night I did the Road To Banff and Spey In Spate. Really struggled to get a clean run through so there's mistakes a plenty and I'm still not completely comfortable in the B part for Road To Banff.

Still, I hope some of you enjoy it.

Spey in Spate is a James Scott Skinner tune. If you want to hear it played competently Nicola Benedetti played it on her recent album of Scots classical and traditional music.

I don't know much about Road to Banff except it was in the Ho-Ro-Gheallaidh (session tunes for Scottish fiddlers) vol 3.

    Hi Chris,

The Road To Banff was written by Aberdeen based flute player Malcolm Reavell. I imagine you might probably know him.

    Cheers

    Cheers Dagger,

I've not met him (I need to get out more), but that's interesting to know!
