To touch on a bit of everything:

I'll roll my eyes at the fellow who wrote F-5 instead of F-4.

F-2/4 all the way. Love the 5s but there's a warmth and beauty there that gets lost in the quest for sharper, percussive bark.

Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame belongs in Memphis. I live here, I work in "the industry" here, and we do rock better than anyone anywhere.

I played a Last Waltz tribute show this past thanksgiving (it's an annual thing now) and I was curious about what instrument he played on records. Now that I own an F-2, I can hear his sound in it. Can't wait to sit in for a few cover songs in November.
    Play it, don't display it.

I was lucky enough to see Levon Helm and his band perform in Asbury Park NJ in 2008, special guests including Phoebe Snow, Max Wienberg, and others.

It was a wonderful performance and Levon did play mandolin a few times that night, I think that may have been his last tour.
