Canadian Jesse Stewart. I first heard him doing a song called Cold Beer, which is fantastic. I encourage you to give it a listen. He got it in a studio and you can get it on iTunes. Hint, hint OneManBandito!

But this is the one I'm posting to introduce him to the board, just because. I like it. I'll warn you that visually, there's a lot going on, immediately.

Why do you say it's not for everyone?

Personally I think this is high water mark in the evolution of this tune:

The belief in and commitment to what he's playing and singing is obvious and awesome. I expected to not like it based on the lead in , but I kind of dug it. My only gripe is, "Tune your freaking A and E strings!!!!!"

I'm all for bending and dissonance, but, man tune the unison pairs (or go octaves, ala bouzouki).

    Thanks for posting, enjoyed it!!

Yea tuning is a tad askew. Says he ad libbed the lyrics after the very first verse! I believe it too. Dude has got talent. Reminds me a bit of early Shane MacGowan.

I'm a fan. I like that Ovation. He digs in hard on it - three chords and the truth (might have been a few more than three).

True. Not for me; that's for sure.
(I hear the 'Scabies Treatment' album is a killer though.)

energy, drive, tragic earnestness, yup. probably an acquired taste. I do see what is likeable.

actually clicked around on a few of his tunes.
not the best , for my taste, in musicianship, vocal, interpretation or arrangement.

this old geezer thinks, ol Jesse probably could use a bit of help on .....grooming and possibly attire, although the bare chested thing seems to work for a lot of metal bands...so I may well be wrong......

suddenly im thinking how very polished and sophisticated overalls are.....

I think the one requires the other: looks to shock attention away from the music, music expressing a mindset oblivious to criticism of looks.

Plus a sound engineer demonstrating the other existing technique of delousing.

Wow, Got that right. Not for me! I do love the girl in the modified Berka on the computer. That's about it.

I have wondered about what the purpose of that girl might be.
My recent guess is that the mandolinist is not real - he is a digital animation created, controlled and copied live into the scene from her computer. That's why she is secretly smiling sometimes; I would smile if I was the puppet-master.

Thanks for sharing but, I will pass. I couldn't get through the miserable tuning and had to quit about a minute and a half in.
Intense yes, in tune no. Glad someone likes it
