Haven't tried the Vorson e-mandos, but do have a Vorson e-uke strung as an octave mando. The pickups on it are low output. Other than that, it works OK.

Gotta be careful not to poke an eye out with that thing! At least with an emando, you're much less likely to be doing the gather round a single mic thing.

Yeah, half the people leave the room when I get mine out.

They don't go into details about the active electronics. I would also have to run that headstock through a bandsaw (yuck!!). For $199.00, it's cheap enough to buy for a test drive and return if it isn't up to snuff.

Check out the back shot of the electronics cover, magnify the image. Does it say Vorson or Vorosn? I wonder how good the electronics could be if they can't get the spelling correct.

the Zzounds people are the ones that missed the spelling on the back sticker..

    Cool looking headstock.
Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?

There is also a Tele style shown here. One active pickup but three control knobs??? Does anyone know why? Maybe one for volume, one for tone and an extra for when you lose one?

Jefflester- that made me laugh as well

Knock the price down to $100 and I would try one. Or use it for parts/modifying.

"The Vorson M112E electric mandolin is ready to shred some bluegrass licks." LOL.
Something for the heavy metal bluegrass musician. All five of them...
