Default Unexpected NGD (But probably not what you think)

Not sure where to post this...
So here it goes, and if it needs to be moved--I'm okay with that...

I got home Tuesday & discovered I have a late Christmas gift.
It's not expensive, but it is a guitar of sorts...

    It's got a wood neck--and now I have a neckthrough guitar. (& a fretless guitar & a second one with f-holes & another hollowbody)
The body is a fake cigarbox made of a sturdy cardboard & a stronger top--the body is actually covered in a sticker to look like woodgrain.
Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?

Too many pictures in one post makes my computer freeze--so:
It does require some assembly--so I've done that as well.
You add on a bolt for the nut & one for the bridge.
I might try a smaller bolt for the nut--while it is for slide--it is a bit high.
It comes with a CD & book on how to play it & other tips.
The strings also are shipped off--so they ned to be put on. The headstock is a little crowded so that wasn't a ton of fun.
But I like the tuner at the top.
It also comes with a glass slide.

    And here is it assembled...

    So--what's it like?
    Well it's simple to play.

I've played better cigarbox guitars--but they also cost a lot more than this would have (I don't know what the giver paid for it--as it was on sale, but it has to be a lot less than the ones I'm referring to.)

But it works--you can play it acoustically or amplified-it has some sort of piezo or similar thing in it.

    So bottomline?
    It's fun--it's a cool gift.
And it's a guitar as well.
Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?

I think it is cool. I have instruments all over my place. Even if you don't play them, they are better artwork than hanging pictures
Kala tenor ukulele, Mandobird, Godin A8, Dobro Mandolin, Gold Tone mandola, Gold Tone OM, S'oarsey mandocello, Gold Tone Irish tenor banjo, Gold Tone M bass, Taylor 214 CE Koa, La Patrie Concert CW, Fender Strat powered by Roland, Yamaha TRBX174 bass, Epiphone ES-339 with GK1

Certainly--although I have been playing this, and will keep doing so.

    Yes--it's tuned G-D-G
The book suggests that tuning, but it was what I intended to use anyway.
I do use open G on guitar for slide--so it's like taking those three strings only.
