Here's a video of Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson performing the folk classic "Turn, Turn, Turn" live in our studios. Enjoy!

Nice Monteleone, nice singing, and I also liked the subtly different arrangement.

These guys are so good. We're lucky to be able to see Herb regularly out here in SoCal. And on occasion Chris will show up and do a few tunes. Herb's guitar work is always spot on. Is that a Monty Chris is playing? Could never quite make out the inlay.

I have to say that it took me until half-way through the instrumental part to realise, thats a pretty dang super arrangement that they got going on between the guitar and mandolin.

Sure, it"s simple, in the best sense, and understated (all the better for it) but, with the space the allow they get the best out out of the two instruments. Would it be too bold to say, no tremolo aside, that they use both instruments wisely? I mean to say they use them "optimally', seperate, supportive, and the mandolin very, um, mandoliney ... if you get what i'm at?

I also, like how the track starts out coiled and, dare i say, stressed, but begins to unwind and slow (perhaps just after the first utterence word 'purpose'?).

A long way to say 'i like'.

You turn 70 it's time to start sitting down! Chris I think turned 70 this year. There is some speculation on his actual birth year due to playing in clubs as a teenager. If you get a chance to see these guys live it's worth every penny. He's been playing this song for 50 years so he's gotten pretty at ease with it. However I am now convinced that Chris does suffer acute MAS. First time I've seen him with this Dawg model. Last time he was Red Diamond. He's been Nugget and dozens others and yet still owns the 1924 F5 Loar that Steve Stills gave him in 1972. He's got MAS!

Chris and Herb a few years back at Woodstown, NJ. Eight Miles High brought the crowd to it's feet. I second what Tom said, if you get a chance to see these guys go.

Roger McGuinn, formerly known as Jim is still out there playing, Gene Clark has passed on, Michael Clarke has passed on, David Crosby is still out there as is Chris Hillman. Later members Gram Parsons, Clarence White, and Skip Battin all passed away as well. I like that band in all iterations.

I last saw Chris Hillman a few years ago and got to talk with him back stage after his show. He looked younger than me even though he's 7 years older than I am. The years apparently haven't been kind to me

John York and Gene Parsons still living and playing as well as Kevin Kelly but don't think he is playing drums anymore. Chris was doing weight lifting and running and eating healthy. I'm pretty sure all of the Byrds were heavy cig. smokers back then. The ones that quit are still living and the ones that didn't are dead now.
