I was wondering what kind of strings and gauges you are using on your Rono? I own a mann 5 string and I use Ernie Ball slinkys 10/14/24/36/52 on it. I just bought a used Rono from the classifieds so I just want to see what other are using.

You got a good deal on that Rono, if it was the $1,200 one I'm thinkin' about. Can't say what anyone uses for strings on them, although I'm certainly happy to sell you some strings over at emando.com...

Yes MRMANDO I got a score. I did get the one for 1200.00. I am going to be in big trouble at home but it is hard to resist a great deal. It has a cool inlay on the headstock of 2 roman solders fighting or dancing. Not sure if that is the standard inaly for Rono or custom but it looks cool.
I will have to order some strings from you. You will be hearing from me in a few days.

WMR, you're using bridge cables on that Mann. Lighten up! IMHO

You would think 52 would be brutal but in this case it feels almost too light. You would have to ask John Mann why the mando he built me uses 52.

For what it's worth, I use 5 strings out of a Thomastik JS-110 Flatwound Electric Guitar set on my 5-string Mann:
