    Default Washington, D.C. Area

    I'll be in dc from June 3 to the 7th. Leftover salmon is at the Hamilton on the 4th. I'll be there. But I'd like to sit in on a jam or visit a shop as well. If you have some local mandolinist's advice, I'd appreciate it.

    The DC Bluegrass Union's web site is a good place to look for jams (link below). http://dcbu.org/

    The best stores I know for mandolins are not in DC. Melodee Music has 2 stores in Sterling & Leesburg, and the House of Musical Traditions is in Takoma Park, MD. Melodee is pretty far out. HMT is closer (altho not super close), and walkable from the metro.
