Default Mandolinists in the Lancaster/Millersville area of PA

Hi! I'm a beginning mandolinist and have been playing for almost a year. Looking for mandolinists (especially other beginners) in the Lancaster and Millersville areas that might wanna meet up to jam and learn from each other. I attend MU and wouldn't mind meeting up there either sometime during the summer or even this coming semester. HMU if you're interested. Thanks!

Hey there Going CoMando-- I'm not quite right in your area (I live in Northern Delaware), but I do have a couple suggestions for ya.

First of all this is the big list of Eastern PA/DE/Md/South Jersey Jams - http://home.comcast.net/~epollak/jam.htm

You'll find maybe 4 or 5 in Lancaster County area.

If you're a beginner, you could also try some of the Werenick Jam classes-- I've done the one at the DE valley BG jam in Salem Co NJ in the past and they're a good place for a beginner to start playing with others and it's a good place to start up a group. I know that they sometimes do Gettysburg which might be a good place to look too.

    Good luck.

I second the motion on the Wernick jam class. It is a good thing and you will meet other bluegrassers. Also, check out Doc Pollak's list above for the "jams" and i think you should go watch the White Oak jam in Quarryville, and maybe chop a bit until u feel ready to play.
